in the air.
(GT Flaire Basic Medium)
Typography is tension: precision on one side, expression on the other. GT Flaire captures this interplay and celebrates dynamic expressivity.
(GT Flaire Extra Medium)
It reclaims an analog warmth by emphasizing curves across each character’s vertical dimension. A true champion of user experience in this cold, digital age.

[Family Setup]
Business or pleasure, utility or statement? With seven weights in both Basic and Extra styles, GT Flaire lets you dial in just the right amount of expression. Paired with their italics, the family offers 28 styles. It comes in both static fonts as well as a versatile variable font with three axes.
Flared shapes add warmth to the design.

[Physics of the stroke]

Calligraphic pens apply ink under pressure. On a paper surface, this results in accentuated curves along the movement path. GT Flaire interprets this physical trait in a systematized manner for the world of bits and bytes. The Flaire axis allows the choice of more or less visible curvatures—and more or less expression.

Why settle for business when you can have pleasure?
Vertical terminals and their opened counters.
[Anatomy of the stroke]

With vertical terminals and open counters, the typeface promotes a natural flow between letters. This design choice adds pace and energy, creating an open, organic appearance. The architecture of each letter maintains a balance between discipline and dynamism, giving text both structure and movement.

The counters are enclosed and isolated.
The opened counters create a dynamic look.

[Dynamics of the stroke]

GT Flaire Basic is all business. But when it comes to pleasure, the Extra styles go all the way. Their reverse contrast emphasizes the horizontal and elevates the negative space’s drama—further supported by the satisfying dance of thick and thin and the resulting sharpened corners.

Expression or legibility? Why choose if you can have both.
Sometimes being extra is just not enough.

[THE BEAUTY OF DIVERSITY]

Expanding on its calligraphic foundation, the fonts offer a large number of exuberant alternates. They allow the typeface to flex beyond its prescribed range and offer you the opportunity to go the extra mile! To think outside the box! Disrupt! Definitely not business as usual.

(GT Flaire Basic Medium)
GT Flaire bridges the worlds of business and pleasure. This typographic liberation is a hostile takeover from the confines of corporate rigidity.
(GT Flaire Extra Medium)
No longer bound to being strictly serious or purely playful, this typeface lets you embrace both — catering some serious fun.
